Julie Chen married Les Moonves, an American media executive, in a private ceremony in Acapulco, Mexico, on December 23, 2004.
She is the mother of her only son, Charlie, whom she gave birth on September 24, 2009. In 2018, she dedicated her first book, When I Grow Up, to her son.
