They started a romantic relationship and married in 2005.
However, their marriage became difficult, especially after their daughter was born in 2006.
Rosa, desperate to get full custody of her daughter, planned a terrible crime to frame Eric.
On January 7, 2009, Rosa and Mei Li committed a brutal act against Selma “Sally” Hill, Eric’s 91-year-old grandmother.
They also tried to attack Eric when he came to the house, but he managed to fight them off.
Rosa and Mei were charged with Sally’s demise and the attempt to harm Eric. In June 2011, Rosa was sentenced to 25 years behind bars.
In 2015, Li’s murder conviction was reversed, as Rosa said that her mother helped her only after Sally had already passed away, not during the incident.
Nonetheless, it hasn’t changed much for the duo since the paper notes that Li’s conviction for attempted homicide still stands. Both Rosa and Mei Li are still serving life sentences.
